From September I’ll be taking up the role of guitar teacher at Gloucester Academy of Music. The Academy is the latest incarnation of Gloucester’s only junior conservatoire. It has a long history for producing musicians who have gone on to professional performance careers, and it continues to have an outstanding reputation for string and wind teaching. It’s located in the heart of Gloucester, with parking onsite.
Up until now there has been no guitar department at GAM, giving us the opportunity to establish an exciting new department. My aim is to establish an active community of guitar students of all standards – from absolute beginners to advanced players – having one-to-one tuition, playing in groups, taking advantage of regular performance opportunities, and having great fun with their music.
We are now enrolling our first students. Lessons will begin mid-September. If you are interested or you know someone else who might, please either contact me direct:

This new look comes at a time when there are a few new things happening for me too. In September I will begin studying in Bristol, at the University of the West of England, for an MA in Music Therapy. I am extremely excited about that.
Also from September I will begin work with Gloucester Academy of Music, setting up a brand new, vibrant guitar department. Gloucester needs this centre for guitar, and I have very high hopes for what we can achieve.
Hopefully I can juggle the odd “A 21 Guitar Salute!” around these new projects!
Cheers, Chris
