Chris & Les Paul, Dec 2007

Chris’ career has taken him from his native Great Britain performing to members of The Royal Family, across Spain working with the maestros of flamenco guitar, and as far away as the Indian Himalayas performing to HH the Dalai Lama, at his exiled residence in Dharamsala.

His innovative programming and inspirational performances delight and entertain audiences around the world. He has performed in the presence of HRH Princess Alexandra and HRH Princess Diana, and has traveled around the world many times performing his unique show “A 21 Guitar Salute!”  Chris’ career includes invited performances at the Edinburgh Festival, the Bolivar Guitar Festival, the 1st International Guitar Duo Festival, the Japan 2001 Festival and the Battersea Contemporary Music Festival.  He has performed on Spanish television in the live finals of the ‘Velez-Malaga Concurso Internacional de la Guitarra’.

At London’s Royal Academy of Music Chris worked with Julian Bream and John Williams.  Chris then spent a year living in Alicante, Spain, where he was accepted as a pupil of the maestro José Tomás, assistant and companion to Andres Segovia for 25 years.  Chris travelled to Madrid, Barcelona and throughout Andalucia performing and studying.

Chris began his teaching career when he was invited to teach on the Royal Academy of Music’s Music In The Community scheme, working with under privileged children.  Within four years Chris was professor of guitar in some of London’s leading schools, including The Harrodian School, and Marylebone High School of Performing Arts.  In September 2010 he will take up a position at Gloucester Academy of Music, establishing their brand new guitar department.
